TRUTH: "Have No Fellowship With the Unfruitful Works of Darkness, But Rather EXPOSE Them!" ~ GOD, Ephesians 5:11

"THIEVES" - By Trey Smith: A TRUE Story Of One Dirty TV Pastor & The Man Who Robbed Him!

The book THIEVES is the true story of a safe robbery of a prominent television evangelist, Dr. Mike Murdock. The book was written by the very man who perpetrated the theft. Trey Smith (an author from Denver, Colorado) takes the reader on a ride of sheer insanity through the dark secrets behind-the-scenes of multi-million-dollar Christian empires. He catalogs the devious levels of depravity that have never before been laid out in such detail—the pain that is caused in the great pursuit of a dollar bill. It was in these “seedy-worlds” and private life-styles (mainly that of the extravagantly wealthy minister Mike Murdock), that compelled Trey Smith to steal a safe guarded by three (3) electronic doors. After the burglary, Smith lived on the run and never spoke about the event for a great many years. What he has to say is not only gripping from one page to the next—it may well be one of the most important books of the decade.

  3. Iam a pentecostal pastor and I hate that pastors would support and say good things about this man Trey Smith. You are all bound to devil if you listen to this man. I am long time partner of Mike Murdock and his "seed -giving" works and is of GOD! It doesn't matter if Dr. Murdock has done a few small wrongs or people hurt sometimes. All ministries have hurt some people and made them mad. You can't take a few mad people and make this kind of big deal. GOD IS A GOD OF FORGIVENESS. BUT GOD WILL NOT FORGIVE THE DEVIL OR TREY SMITH IF HE KEEP GOING. God want us pastors to have nice things. Gospel needs money, even if it is millions. God want men of HIM to enjoy this life. I pray curse on this man Trey Smith who is truly of the SATAN. His attack shall not stand and he is liar anyway. DONT READ HIS BOOK. IT WILL CURSE YOU AND TREY SMITH WITH YOU. HELL IS NOT GOOD PLACE.

    1. God doesnt curse and god forgives everyone. I have watched Dr Murdock and he places a great focus on money. Once he was with Benny Hinn and he was talked about how wild he is. He said he would even attack telephone poles

    2. Lol, Matthew 19:24 "Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Romans 12:14 "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them." 1Peter 3:9 "Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing." Matthew 5:44 "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;" 1 John 4:1 "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." 2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.

  4. GREAT JOB - Trey! You did a brilliant job expressing yourself with the riveting details in a life of crime and counterfeit Christianity while making the story feel so alive. I am thrilled you were able to expose the darkness all to commonly known within the profit preaching pimp community and I sincerely hope that Mike Murdock will reap ALL that he has sown! Too bad for Mike all his dirty millions aren't fire proof since he won't be able take his treasures to HELL at the jet rocket speed he's headed. Pansy pastors like this pentecostal phony above give true Christians a bad name and the only thing compromising fools like him care about is fattening their own pocket at the expense of others.

I give Thieves two giant thumbs up and I am honored to have Trey as a friend and brother in Christ. It's a must read for believers & non-believers alike.

  5. The inherent issue with something like this is that the author has so badly defamed himself by profiling his life that his credibility is seriously injured. I'm all for exposing corruption, but you have to be careful and selective in what you believe, Dani. Surely you wouldn't appreciate being burned alive out of some absurd assumption that you're a witch because some idiots equated your striking red hair with witchcraft, would you? We need to be fair and unassuming.

  6. Trey,

I just don't have a good understanding of what you are trying to accomplish here besides selling your book and seeking forgiveness for your crime. If you believe that your book will "take down a ministry," well then I think that you are misleading yourself. Whatever demons concerning your childhood that you are dealing with on a daily basis won't be obliterated by maliging other people. You have to humble yourself and go to God with a contrite spirit. If you truly had your "head together" so to speak you would not need to defame others. Please walk in love as He has commanded us as such. I do hope that you can find rest and peace in the Lord. Bringing others down is not a good recipe for forgiveness. I do hope you can fill the void in your life with Goodness.

  7. I sit in fear of God for you Sir. I am not saying that what you say is not true but at the same time I am not saying I believe one word. if this is true, I would be afraid, being a minister if I was of that spirit you accuse the brother, I would be terrified to stand in that Holy Desk but at the same time walking in the wisdom of the fear of God, I would not want to be you if you are wrongfully attacking this minister. I am going to contact Mike and I will see if he responds. I sometimes struggle as I see all the prosperity and I see myself struggling when I help people out of my mite, my husband and I. Sir, if this is not true, I pray that your work to brought to nothing and I pray if this is true of Mike Murdock that this God He speaks of will take from him what he has taken wrongfully from the poor but if you are he is right, whoever it is i pray God's full prosperity on you and him whoever is the true man of God here and that in that prosperity, God will use you to give me $250,000.00 as that is what I need. And I am real. I may be a pastor but I am here to SERVE and help people to Christ. He is coming soon. I think it would be better to pray for our brother if we see him err so that is what I compel all who read to do: Pray to let God arise and the enemy be scattered. There is a truth and a lie in this. Let the established truth of God prevail

    1. Our brothers in the Lord are those who do the will of our father in heaven Matthew 12:50 "For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother." Did no God promise to take care of us like the birds of the air? And the lilies of the field? Didn't he promise to give us bread, not a stone, if not more. If you seek after him with your whole heart he will take care of you. Now he didn't promise us riches or gold.

Matthew 6:19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." Mark 10:25 "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

The prosperity gospel is of the devil. Why would God give us what would make it harder to get closer to him? He didn't say he was going to let us starve, but going to Jesus because you want to be rich is of a corrupt heart. Here is what God told me in a prosperity gospel service "Kristina look at them, why can't their hearts be after me like that" Meaning they served mammon (money) and not God. You can not serve two masters. So in a nutshell he is not our brother in the Lord, he is a false teacher and according to Ezekiel 33 it is our job to blow the shofar and warn the people.

  8. That's an interesting and heart moving comment. Christians (particularly Pentecostals) seem to be very stripped by this. Mike Murdock is (in a sense) a model of what they would like to become and --- more precisely --- how they envision God Himself. "God desires men to have an abundance of financial success." While I would be the first to agree with them on that, it is important how that "financial success" is gained. The end does not justify the means. Beyond this, none of us want to believe we have been "taken for a ride." It is my opinion though that the faster we come to terms with basic truths .... the quicker we are able to legitimately equip ourselves for the challenges this life holds, pursue the will of God (not our version of it), and begin to grip onto the incredible plans that the Lord has for each and every one of our lives. Men like Mike Murdock are both a distraction and enormous roadblock to all of that.

In talking with the Trinity Foundation this past week, Ole' Anthony (a man whose organization has investigated religious fraud for 20 years) said something very telling. He said, "Perhaps God allows the televangelists because they illustrate the light and dark side in all of us ..... however, Murdock appears to have more dark than the bunch."

Thieves is merely a true story ..... a story about extremely unusual events that likely never happen in other people's lives. It is for that reason that it needed to be told. The fact that it revolves around a safe robbery with the backdrop of a TV Pastor makes it just that much more of a rarity.

I thank everyone that reads Thieves, their opinions (for better or worse), and the reviews which are overwhelming.

    Trey Smith-

  9. With all due disrespect "Pastor" Louise Hayden, your position as a female church leader automatically disqualifies you from providing wisdom & sound judgment to the topic, therefore your words cannot be taken seriously! Please learn Scripture before speaking with any authority on my page.

  10. It's hilarious to hear Pentecostal preacher and others defend Mike Murdock. God sends people like Murdock to purposefuly fool stiffnecked believers as a form of judgement for turning away from the truth. Anyone who follows Him and his ilk, Copeland, Benny Hinn and such, get what they deserve.

  11. Bought the Kindle this morning, finished it by dinner time. Riviting and worth the read and the price.
(Still not used to such graphic language though.)
You can discern what is true (brutal) and what is a stretch fairly well.

Began to pencil in a running list of all the prominant spiritual leaders who may be or have been suspect of, accused of or admitted to immorality and falls of recent times (over 70 of them).
I have decided to make this list of assumed spiritual giants my new intercessory prayer list.

May all that is in the dark come into the light safely even as it did for Mr. Murdock's admitted mentor, Jimmy Swaggart.

Trey, please consider creative ways to watch your own back so no one can say God's lightning-bolt judgement came on you for this testimony.

Thank you for being the one who was gutzy and transparent enough to share this necessary testimony.

You were EXTREEMLY loving and kind to leave Mr. Murdock the passage at the end, perhaps it will remind him of his mom's devoted love for him as a call "to come out of the closet" and to make things right.
    Best regards.

  12. Trey,
It's too bad you didn't just hide a camera and wire to film it all, then you would have been able to sell it to the liberal fake Christian hating news media or put MM doings on the internet. You missed a great big opportunity to really bring this Tare among wheat down!!
Now we will just have to see how God plans to do it.
    By the way..I believe you!
