"Have I now become your enemy by telling you the TRUTH?" - Galatians 4:16
The Bible calls for a balance between what some people think are two opposing reactions—rebuke and compassion. Really, the two are essential elements of true Biblical Love. But when people who are so caught up in their sins are told the Truth in love, automatically they believe it is hate because they lack Godly discernment to know the difference.
Misapplied and misappropriated "love" is destroying the lives of millions, especially in the homosexual community. Everyone has their own version of “truth” costumed designed to support their perversion, but what they fail to realize is their truth is deep seeded in lies and a fast ticket straight to hell.
Hardly anyone speaks the Truth anymore because people simply don't want to hear the Truth. Truth brings conviction. Conviction brings guilt. Guilt brings shame. Shame brings remorse, and remorse brings repentance.
Undoubtedly - TRUTH is Hate, to those who Hate TRUTH!
So where does that leave us? If hate is so wrong, why does God tell us that “there is a time for hate" (Ecclesiastes 3:8)?
I know it is hard to believe, but the God who IS love, also hates. That’s right. God hates. God is Holy, Just and Righteous and He “hates all who do iniquity” (Psalm 5:5). In fact, God goes further by calling some things an abomination, which is a much more powerful type of hate. According to the dictionary abomination means “hate coupled with disgust,” and abomination occurs over 170 times in the Bible.
*Here is a list of things God HATES.
"I have not sat with idolatrous mortals, Nor will I go in with hypocrites. I have hated the assembly of evildoers; And will not sit with the wicked." - Psalm 26:4-5
Followers of Christ, must NOT compromise on what the Bible says about sin, especially the abomination of homosexuality! No matter how one interprets the Bible, it is abundantly clear throughout Scripture that homosexuals stand in defiant rebellion against nature and the will of their Creator, who from the beginning, “made them male and female.” (Genesis 1:27)
Why are hate and love confused with each other among some people? The greatest commandment is to love God. Jesus’ second command is to love your neighbor as yourself. But what does "loving" your neighbor really mean? Doesn’t real love require us to confront each other if we saw that they were sinning, hurting themselves, and blaspheming the name of the LORD?
"You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him…but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD." - Leviticus 19:17-18
If I did not have love for people like Deb, the "Neurotic Christian Lesbian" then I wouldn’t care what she did with her life, how many people she destroys in the process, or that she is living in such a way that will ultimately send her to directly to hell according to God. No, I love Deb enough to rebuke her and warn her of her destructive path, but she lashes back and calls me hateful.
"But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight; And a good blessing will come upon them." - Proverbs 24:25
Over the years “Christians” have blurred the line between right and wrong, redefined Truth, and perverted the true meaning of Love. The homosexual community, as well as the church have utterly deceived people like Deb into believing, confessing, tolerating, and promoting a false gospel of “love.”
But God tells us to, “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.” - Romans 12:9
How can we abhor evil if we love, accept and tolerate that which is evil?
Compromise is commonplace behind the pulpit, and we have a growing number of homosexuals who claim to be "Christians" and have been severely deceived by popular gay theology. Today, most Christians would never be caught "judging" or rebuking the wicked, as God's people in the Bible sometimes did. Many Christians today would condemn Jesus Christ's attitude as "unloving," "hateful," and "intolerant" if they saw Him in person.
But as Jesus promised His followers who stand up for Truth, "You will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. And then many will be offended." - Matthew 24:9-10
We cannot make up our own "truth" to coincide with our lifestyle, we must conform our lifestyle to the one and only Truth - God's Truth! Our hearts must be pure and our eyes always need to be toward the One who is Love instead of on ourselves, otherwise we could fall away from God forever. Once we have a good conscious and repent of our sins, we will learn how to love as the Savior loves, in TRUTH and WITHOUT HYPOCRISY! Until then, those who love sin and perversion will call the Truth hate, and God will cast them away from Him because they hated the Truth.
“Then they will call on Me, but I will not answer. They will seek Me diligently, but they will not find Me. Because they hated knowledge; And did not choose the fear of the LORD. They would have none of My counsel; And despised My every rebuke." - Proverbs 1:28-30
According to the Bible, it is HATE to NOT rebuke your neighbor in sin. Real love warns sinners while hate stands silently by as hell's population continues to grow.
