What Went Wrong?

Generation X enters the world on the heals of the Baby Boomers: A single Generation responsible for the breakdown of the family and the moral decay in America. We are the products of fatherlessness, divided homes, addicted parents, cable television, daycare institutions and the public school.

It was during our parent’s Generation that people began to abandon morality and reject God and Truth. It was the “free-love” Baby Boomers that demanded “equal-rights” for women in the workplace and proudly declared their “independence” from men. Along with the entire feminist agenda, women demanded the “right to choose” to kill their unborn baby…should it conflict with their life or career in some way.

The sanctity of a covenant relationship between one man and one woman has diminished while casual sex has become the norm. Subsequently, if a woman becomes pregnant and chooses to have the baby, most likely that child will grow up without a father and placed within the four walls of a daycare center. That child is involuntarily born into a broken home with an unfavorable disposition headed for failure.

A broken home breeds a broken child, and the reflection of brokenness has rippled all throughout this Nation.

During the 1960's growing numbers of women started abandoning their role as mothers in pursuit of a career. Once that took place, divorce rates began to skyrocket. With mom in the workplace, children are abandoned and left for strangers to take care after them for nearly 35 hours per week. Basically unaccounted for, those children become confused, lonely and void of direction. Without a proper upbringing they are inclined to repeat the cycle of their parents.

The Generational curse is passed down and is multiplied in degrees of evil. Now WE are selfishly bringing children into this world without providing the fundamental component in raising a happy, healthy child – A stable family! A mom and dad who are committed to each other and take their roles as parents seriously!

More than ever, our children’s Generation is growing up away from their family and placed in institutionalized learning centers. Parents willingly surrender their children over to be loved, nurtured, disciplined, taught, and cared for by people whom they hardly know. They are transported back and forth as though they were a fancy piece of luggage, but they never obtain a permanent residence on one place.

Children today spend most of their waking hours inside the four walls of a childcare center or some other place away from home. Many have to share visitation rights with dad on weekends, summers and holidays…if they could be so lucky! But most children will grow up never knowing who their real father is. Without a father around, a mother’s role is systematically reduced to a few hours a day because now she has to work in order to provide.

Consequently, the child is robbed of identity, stability, purpose and direction. Ultimately, in the end the child is completely robbed of a family!

Contrary to popular belief…children actually DO need both a mom and a dad who love them!
Let’s give our children something we never had…caring parents that stay married!
